Martin Henk began his career building software systems for early Estonian media and telecom portals. In 2010, frustrated by incumbent enterprise CRM software like Salesforce and Siebel—which felt like administrative databases built for corporate managers rather than practical productivity tools for salespeople—Henk joined forces with Ragnar Sass, Timo Rein, Urmas Purde, and Martin Tajur.
Henk focused on product architecture and user experience, pioneering the concept of an activity-based visual sales pipeline. In Pipedrive, deals are represented as interactive cards across defined stages, helping sales professionals instantly recognize what actions are required to close contracts.
After completing the AngelPad accelerator in San Francisco, Pipedrive achieved explosive global word-of-mouth adoption across SMBs. Backed by Bessemer Venture Partners, Atomico, and Insight Partners, Pipedrive reached unicorn status in 2020 upon its $1.5B acquisition by Vista Equity Partners. Henk has since become an active angel investor and mentor across the European startup ecosystem.
