Taavi Madiberk attended the University of Tartu, studying law and technology governance before becoming a leading advocate for European industrial tech autonomy. In 2009, alongside Oliver Ahlberg and researchers at the University of Tartu, Madiberk formed Skeleton Technologies.
While lithium-ion batteries are optimized for long-duration energy density, they suffer from slow charging times, fire hazards, and rapid degradation under high-power surges. Skeleton pioneered patented curved graphene supercapacitors that deliver peak power in seconds, withstand over 1 million charge cycles, and charge in under 60 seconds.
Skeleton established cutting-edge manufacturing gigafactories in Germany and Estonia, supplying mission-critical high-power storage to the European Space Agency, Siemens, Skoda, and Honda. With backing from Siemens Financial Services and Marubeni, Madiberk has positioned Skeleton as Europe's premier deep-tech champion in the clean energy transition.
