Kaidi Ruusalepp was at the epicenter of Estonia's digital rebirth following the collapse of the Soviet Union. As an attorney, she co-authored the Estonian Digital Signatures Act in 2000, establishing the legal foundation for the country's paperless e-Residency and e-Government infrastructure.
Ruusalepp went on to serve as Chief Executive Officer of NASDAQ OMX Tallinn (Tallinn Stock Exchange) and the Estonian Central Securities Depository. Witnessing how private startup investing was bottlenecked by opaque legal documentation and 10-year illiquidity locks, Ruusalepp launched Funderbeam in 2013.
Funderbeam introduced syndicate investing linked with a proprietary blockchain-based secondary market, enabling private company angel investors and employees to buy and sell shares with liquidity before an IPO. Backed by Tim Draper and Thomson Reuters, Ruusalepp is recognized as one of Europe's top female fintech champions.
