Niklas Jansen attended WHU โ Otto Beisheim School of Management, immersed in entrepreneurship and digital media. Upon graduation, Jansen and his fellow co-founders noticed a profound human tension: while professionals and curious readers yearned to absorb the world's greatest business, psychology, and science books, daily schedules made reading 300-page tomes virtually impossible.
In 2012, Jansen, Holger Seim, Tobias Balling, and Sebastian Klein founded Blinkist in Berlin. Jansen spearheaded mobile product architecture and user experience, crafting crisp, scientifically structured 15-minute key insights called 'Blinks.' When Blinkist introduced high-fidelity audio narration voiced by trained actors, engagement skyrocketed, capturing Apple Best App awards and viral global adoption.
Backed by Insight Partners, Holtzbrinck Ventures, and IBB Ventures, Blinkist grew organically and profitably across the US and Europe. In 2023, Blinkist merged with Australian corporate upskilling unicorn Go1 in a major international deal, with Jansen continuing to invest in transformative consumer subscription apps.
