Gaurav Agarwal graduated in Computer Science from IIT Delhi in 2001 alongside his co-founder Prashant Tandon. Gaurav moved to Silicon Valley, spending over a decade building mission-critical distributed software and search systems at NetApp and FarmVille creator Zynga. His experience scaling high-concurrency systems for tens of millions of daily users gave him a profound mastery of data architectures. Returning to India in 2012, Gaurav partnered with Prashant to co-found 1mg.

Gaurav engineered the digital infrastructure that powered 1mg's instant medicine substitute engine. When a user searched for a brand, Gaurav's algorithms instantly mapped its chemical salt composition, identified equivalent therapeutic bio-substitutes, and displayed clear price comparisons in milliseconds. He also built temperature-controlled cold-chain tracking for insulin and biopharma products from warehouse to doorstep.

Act IV: The Flywheel of Scale

As 1mg scaled to serve millions of patients across 1,800+ Indian cities, Gaurav architected automated robotic sorting inside 1mg's national fulfillment centers. He oversaw the digital integration of automated diagnostic lab machinery, allowing pathology test results to flow securely from lab analyzers directly into the patient's mobile app in real time.

Act V: Crucible of Fire & Inflection Points

Following Tata's majority acquisition in 2021, Gaurav led the architectural integration of 1mg with Tata Neu and the broader Tata Digital ecosystem. He scaled the platform to handle millions of concurrent users during peak festive and promotional events while maintaining strict regulatory compliance and patient data privacy standards.

Act VI: Ecosystem Architecture

Gaurav is revered within the tech community as one of India's foremost engineering leaders in digital health. He actively champions open-source software, scalable microservice architectures, and healthcare data security. As an active angel investor, Gaurav mentors technical founders in deep-tech, artificial intelligence, and enterprise software.
