Technion to MIT Engineering
Alex Bouaziz studied civil engineering at Technion – Israel Institute of Technology before earning his master’s in mechanical engineering from MIT. While at MIT, he co-founded Lifeslice, a video creation platform, where he met Chinese-born classmate Shuo Wang.
The Inception of Deel
In 2019, Bouaziz and Wang founded Deel in San Francisco through Y Combinator. They set out to solve the regulatory nightmare of hiring global remote talent, creating sovereign legal entities in 100+ countries to handle compliance, contracts, and payroll automatically.
Pandemic Hypergrowth to $500M+ ARR
Deel capitalized on the post-2020 remote work explosion, scaling from $4M to over $500M in ARR faster than almost any SaaS company in history, operating profitably across 150 countries.
