Vinay Singhal grew up in a village in Haryana, graduating in computer science from SRM University. In 2014, Singhal and his co-founders Shashank Vaishnav and Parveen Singhal founded WittyFeed, which became the world's second-largest viral content site after BuzzFeed, generating over 1 billion monthly page views until a sudden Facebook algorithm change wiped out their traffic overnight.
Refusing to succumb, Singhal observed that Netflix, Prime Video, and Disney+ Hotstar catered exclusively to English and Hindi speaking metro elites, ignoring the 800+ million Indians who speak native dialects like Haryanvi, Rajasthani, Maithili, and Gujarati. In 2019, Singhal launched STAGE—the world's first dialect-based OTT platform producing cinema-grade web series, poetry, and folk comedies.
On Shark Tank India Season 2, Singhal presented one of the most intellectually compelling pitches in the show's history, securing a combined ₹1.5 Crore investment from Aman Gupta, Namita Thapar, and Peyush Bansal, followed by a $5M round led by Blume Ventures.
