From a Himalayan Village to Silicon Valley
Jay Chaudhry was born in Panoh, a remote village in Himachal Pradesh, India, studying under village trees without electricity or running water. He earned his engineering degree from IIT BHU Varanasi before moving to the US to earn masterโs degrees in computer engineering and industrial engineering from the University of Cincinnati.
Serial Startup Founder
Before Zscaler, Chaudhry founded and successfully exited four cybersecurity and networking companies: SecureIT (acquired by VeriSign), CoreHarbor (acquired by USi), CipherTrust (acquired by Secure Computing), and AirDefense (acquired by Motorola).
Founding Zscaler & Zero Trust Exchange
In 2007, Chaudhry and his wife Jyoti founded Zscaler in San Jose, pioneering the Zero Trust Exchange to replace slow enterprise firewalls with a global cloud security inspection mesh. Zscaler went public on the NASDAQ in 2018.
