Chris Britt graduated from Tulane University with a degree in economics. He spent over a decade in consumer finance, serving as a senior executive at Visa and Chief Product Officer at Green Dot Corporation.
Founding Chime
In 2013, alongside Ryan King, Britt founded Chime in San Francisco. Britt realized traditional banks made over $30 billion annually by penalizing their poorest customers through overdraft fees, minimum balance penalties, and maintenance charges. Chime built a fee-free model funded entirely by interchange.
Scale to Millions of American Households
With features like SpotMe (fee-free overdraft) and Getting Paid 2 Days Early, Chime grew into the most valuable consumer neobank in North America, serving over 15 million account holders.
