Jeff Cardenas studied business and innovation at the University of Texas at Austin. Spun out of UT Austin’s Human Centered Robotics Lab in 2016 alongside Dr. Luis Sentis, Apptronik spent seven years building advanced robotic exoskeletons and actuators for NASA’s Valkyrie robot.

In 2023, Apptronik introduced Apollo, a friendly, human-scale bipedal humanoid engineered for gross manipulation in logistics hubs and automotive plants.
Mercedes-Benz Commercial Deployment
Under Cardenas's leadership, Apptronik entered commercial agreements with Mercedes-Benz to deploy Apollo humanoids to deliver parts along manufacturing assembly lines.
